With over 20 years of Cybersecurity experience, Jennifer Cottle is a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer and Splunk SME at SecureStrux.  Jen provides expert assessments and solutions for clients within the Defense Industrial Base, with a focus on compliance and secure system configurations.  She started on the developer team at DISA updating Gold Disk and later moved to the Command Cyber Readiness Inspections (CCRI) team traveling the world assessing HBSS, Windows, Web and Database technologies for almost 10 years.  During her time at DISA, she also developed and instructed the DISA RME Application Security & Development v3 STIG Walkthrough course, and reviewed C&A/A&A processes for multiple applications throughout the years.  Now as a member of various cybersecurity teams, Jen has provided expert input on CCRI Staff Assistance Visits, vulnerability assessments, and prioritized risk remediation strategies for organizations such as DLA and USACE.

After many years with SecureStrux, Jen expanded her technical knowledge to and has become passionate about Splunk where she has achieved the Splunk Enterprise Certified Architect and Splunk Certified Core Consultant certifications.  She currently provides Splunk support for several Splunk deployments from larger Linux-based clustered deployments to Windows standalone Splunk instances.  Jen has deployed and configured Splunk to be fully STIG compliant for multiple clients, and she is skilled at troubleshooting and mitigating Splunk performance and/or data issues.

Jen holds an M.S. in Computer Science from Wake Forest University, a B.S. in Computer Science / Mathematics from Concord University, and a B.A. in Business Management from Midway University.
